Soulmates

Is it really true that there really is only one person meant for us? We are raised to believe that somewhere out there in the great ocean of humanity, there is one being out there who is absolutely perfect for us. This lone person will be our perfect match. He or she will understand our every mood, meet our every need, fulfill our deepest wish.

They tell us that this being is our soulmate. The being who is our other half. Stories tell us that finding our soulmate makes for a perfect relationship.

In Greek mythology it is said that our ancestors used to have two faces, 4 arms and four legs. It is said that Zeus feared the power of our ancestors and split them into half. Each one was forever looking for their other half. Would you really like to have double extremities?

With so many people, what are the chances of indeed finding your soulmate? It is like looking for a needle in a haystack with one additional degree of difficulty: you can’t tell if you have it by the way it looks.

Some people will resort to the mystical ways to try and find their other half. Admit it. At some point on your life you believed your horoscope, looked into a crystal ball, had your palm read or had a numerology chart done. You tell yourself you don’t believe in it but you probably checked each of your boyfriends against some chart when things were getting serious.

It is said that we have many soul mates but only one is the ultimate. Some are just friends or teachers. The true search is for that single soul who is your other half, your twin flame as they say.

Now that you are planning to get married, the question truly is how do you know your fiance or fiancee is indeed your soulmate? The last thing any of us want is a divorce. It is costly, it can be painful and it can be avoided if we take time to think.

“Think about what?” you say. Think about these:

  • Do you know yourself? Are you clear about what you really want from life? Do you know what you really like and what you really dislike? What are the things that are completely necessary as far as you are concerned and what are non-negotiables? Unless you truly know yourslef you will never know if you have found your soulmate
  • Does your fiance or fiancee make you feel dafe? If your prospective partner is manipulating you or abusing you in any way or even if he or she just intimidates you then this person is definitely not the one.
  • Does your soulmate take pride in your accomplshments? Ladies think hard about this. Is your fiance truly proud that excel? Is he truly excited that you are about to get a promotion, on that outs you on a higher payscale than he is? Money has quite an effect on relationships
  • Do you enjoy the moments of silence between you? It is easy to party together and chat nineteen to the dozen. But when there isn’t much to talk about do you still enjoy being together or are you restless to get away?
  • This is by no means the only guides but hopefully they will help you determine if this truly is it.
