How long does it really take to put together a wedding? Does it really take months and months to achieve that perfect wedding? Is there an easier way to go about it?

Many brides can feel overwhelmed by the process of trying to achieve the perfect wedding. There are so many decisions to make that sometimes it can be bewildering. It doesn’t help when there are too many people giving their helpful opinions either, just when you need it least.

In reality the length of time you need in order to get married is determined by the marriage law of where you live or are getting married. For example getting married in Las Vegas has a relatively short waiting period. Las Vegas is so often visited by couples wanting to get married that they have everything for you to have an instant wedding. Their marriage licensing office is open very long hours and there is no blood test required. Just make sure that the marriage is recognized in your own country.

Another item that will affect the speed at which you achieve your nuptials is how elaborate a wedding ceremony and reception you want. The more fancy you want it, the longer it will usually take you, especially if you are adamant that everything has to be just as you envisioned it.

Some factors for example may force you to wait unless you are willing to compromise. For example, if you are insistent on getting married in a specific church and specific ballroom but both are booked for the dates you want, you will have to make some choices. It is either you move your wedding date or you change venue. Which will it be?

If you already have a wedding date set and it is very close, don’t fret. You can get married at home if you have to though there are many, many options if you really want to hold it elsewhere. There are many excellent restaurants and master chefs who will be absolutely honored to help you with your wedding repast though you may not have as much choice of entrees as if you gave them more time.

Wedding gowns are not a problem. There are now many wedding boutiques that carry beautiful gowns that are ready for you to wear. You’ll just need to check that they have a capable seamstress available to help you get it ready and fit to your shape in time for your nuptials. If they don’t have one, then you may need to choose another dress, one that truly is a perfect fit without alteration.

Lastly, never underestimate the power of family and loving friends. As long as you give them a very clear image of what you want, they can help you find everything you need so that you can concentrate on the items that you feel are most important. Trust that they will choose wisely for you. These would have to be people who really know your tastes as well as those of your groom.
