Beach Weddings

I love beaches, there is no hiding it. Yet unlike other people, I love a quiet stretch of beach without other vacationers milling around. You may have a different reason for loving the beach but I bet you wouldn’t say no to a June wedding at the beach as well. The beach is in fact one of the most inspiring and romantic places to hold a wedding at. What do you need to consider when planning for a beach wedding?

Of course the first thing should be which beach to hold your wedding at. There are thousands of beaches all over the world but you can only make use of one. As such, you have to choose the perfect location for your wedding. If you live in Florida or California, or any other place with good beaches, then you are in luck. If you live inland then you would have to consider traveling to the beach you favor. That would make your wedding a destination wedding. Whatever you decide on, the important thing is that you pick the location which suits you perfectly.

Another thing that you have to consider is the cost. This actually stems from the fact that you might have to hold your wedding at a place quite far from your home. This would apply especially to those who are going to hold a destination wedding. Travel expenses, lodging, licenses and permits, and of course the food, flowers, and other normal wedding expenses are all part of this consideration.

You also have to put a little more time into planning the whole thing. The time is one important consideration. Do you want to say your vows under a perfect beach sunset? Or maybe you want to hold it early in the morning under the soft rays of the sun. Whichever you may prefer, check the local weather patterns and other related reports so as to avoid any inadvertent events.

Your outfit – and the rest of the wedding party’s as well – would have to be tailor made to suit a beach wedding. Getting married on the beach may be one of the most romantic things on earth but there are other practical considerations too. Try walking on the sand in high heels and you will know what I mean. That is only one thing, actually. In the next post, I’ll share some more tips for a beach wedding in detail.

My favorite location for a beach wedding is key west. They have several nice locations for a beach ceremony and reception. If you want to cut cost on decorating your beach wedding. Probably the best place to find each theme wedding favors and invitations is eBay. The also have a large selection for parasol fan favors to keep everyone cool.

I completely agree regarding a beach wedding. Some of the nicest beach weddings are on the West coast of Florida (Key West is a great example). I attended a wedding in Naples where the ceremony was perfectly timed to the Sunset. Pretty cool!

A beach wedding is romantic and beautiful in many areas of Florida. Some of the best locations for a destination beach wedding is on the Emerald Coast of Florida. Destin beach weddings is very popular for many brides and grooms.Destin beach weddings are preformed almost every day.

We at LCI Paper have been hearing a lot about theme weddings of late (of which beach weddings are simply one among many). One of the latest that we heard about was a pirate wedding (which is a beach wedding with a “we be but humble pirates” twist…).

There are certainly a lot of beaches along the east coast of the United States with a rich pirate history that could be used as a great location for a beach/pirate wedding. Many beaches from North Carolina down to Florida would do well, but even up here in New England there are beaches on Cape Cod with a strong pirate “affiliation”…

One question, though, would referring to the bride as “wench” be impolite? That might be over the top…

It occurs to me that one of the nicest weddings I ever attended was a beach wedding on Cape Cod. The service was on the beach as was the reception, which was an old fashioned New England clam bake. It was so nice being on the beach in the late afternoon (my absolute favorite time to be at the beach) sipping wine and eating great New England seafood.

As I remember they had a pianist or a string ensemble for music, which fit the late afternoon beach mood perfectly. It made it very easy for guests to mingle and converse.

This got me to thinking, what would be the “best” music for a beach wedding. Of course, personal taste plays a big role - but I guess it is the mood that you are trying to create. If you are going for ’60s beach movie mood than light up the bonfire and have a rockin’ band (or a DJ with some old Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello tunes). If you want to go introspective and more in tune with the surroundings, than something more quiet is probably in order…
