Adding A Touch of the Heavens

If there are any gentlemen who read this and are still looking for the perfect moment to propose, please read on. Have you been waiting for that perfect moment to propose? Are you looking for signs from the heavens or do you feel like you need to wish on a star just to get her to say yes? Then you will love this: the Perseid meteor shower!
Every year in August the earth intersects the debris of the comet Swift -Tuttle. As the dust and comets hit our planets atmosphere, they create a spectacular show. As we enter the heaviest part of the trail we get a wonderful meteor shower which is visible to the naked eye. This year the peak will take place on August 12.
Now all you have to do is take your lady on a trip, preferably away from the city lights. Look for a place where the sky is dark and you do have a comfortable place to wait for the show. Think of it as camping with a romantic twist.
Come well prepared. Make sure you have comfortable sleeping bags. Prepare a wonderful romantic midnight picnic. Please don’t make her cook your dinner! Have champagne on hand in the cooler ready for that big moment. Make sure that you brought a recliner so that you can comfortably see the sky without straining your necks.
You’ll also want to bring some bug spray along. No sense having the insect spoiling the mood. It would also be annoying if the ants got first dibs on your feast. Make sure you’ve got everything ready but out of their reach.
Don’t forget the ring. It is great that you are givig her the moon and stars (figuratively) but don’t forget why you’re there. It would be a great time to propose as the number of meteorites rise. If she says yes, which you’re probably confident she will, you’ll literally have your special moment beneath a shower of stars.
Hmmm…that could also be the theme of your wedding. No, we’re not suggesting you get all futuristic (unless you want to, of course) but it isn’t hard for your wedding planner to help you add the touch of astronomy to your nuptials.
The touches can be small like having the seal on your wedding invitations be a falling star. Have your flowers include star shaped flowers. They come in quite a few colors including white, blue, pink, peach and yellow as you prefer. It can even be as simple as having your wedding reception outdoors under a tent so thin you can indeed see the night sky. Of course if the weather won’t permit it, ask your wedding coordinator to help you create the effect of the night sky with dark blue material and twinkle lights.
You can dress your entourage in the dark blue of the night sky, just as on the day he proposed. Some star earrings or a jewelled star hair ornament can help add to your heavenly moment. You can even ask your family and friends to use silver and gold star shaped confetti as you exit the church instead of rice rounding of your shower of stars.
