If diamonds and Swarovski is too expensive for your budget, you can simply use metallic colors and prisms to help you create the effect. Have a theme like white and gold. One advantage of this color scheme is that it is easy to find - most caterers and wedding professionals have these available. The very chairs can have gold colored frames. The plates will have gold edging. The vases and other accessories can all be found in this color as well. In fact, your cake maker can edge the white icing with gold to add elegance and make your cake unique.

Now, add prisms. There can be prisms in the chandeliers, mixed in with the flowers, strategically placed with the swags overhead and even some scattered on the table for effect.

Prisms can also be used on your cake. You can mingle them with the candy flowers. They will refract the light and add little rainbows to your cake. This is perfect for adding a touch of whimsical elegance to your wedding cake.
