No Halloween Looks!

When it comes to weddings, the goth look is out. Of course that assumes that you and your spouse are not into one of those Addams Family mode. Generally speaking, most couples don’t wish to look like death warmed over, nor do they wish to be the bride of Count Dracula.

In order to ensure that you do not look like you’re going to a funeral instead of a wedding, there are many things you can do. First off, have someone who is really good at doing make-up to help you get you ready on your big day. Special occasions call for perfect make up. The kind that makes you look flawless. Don’t hesitate to spend on an artist who can truly bring out your inner beauty. It is worth it.

If you are going to do your own make-up, here are some ways to keep from looking like a ghost at your wedding:

  • Make Sure your face has a touch of color. Yes, the natural look is best loved by most brides. The effect most sought after is the naturally glowing look (even when we all know it is enhanced by make up). The best way to create that illusion is to have touches of color. Some pink on your cheeks can make you look like a blushing bride indeed.
  • Choose a foundation that is a perfect match to your skin tone. A common cause of looking pasty is using a foundation that is too pale for you. It really adds a pallor to your face. Using a foundation that is too dark can make you look tired or haggard, especially if it is unevenly spread.
  • Avoid the blood red lipstick. Many women love the bright color, feeling that it adds life. That is true however when you keep in mind that the red is surrounded by pale color (as in white face, dress and veil) it can make too startling a contrast. You might actually look like a bloodsucker. Not an image to cultivate for the wedding. Leave the vampy image for when you guys are alone and use more subtle shades for this day. A deeper rose can add color without being harsh.
  • Lay off the false eyelashes. Some brides think having thicker lashes will look good on camera and sometimes they’d be right. There is however the possibility of it making you look like there are spiders on your eyes. You can achieve luscious looking lashes without them. All you need is to use some foundation on your lashes first then apply good mascara on them when they’ve dried.

Unless you want to look like a hag, keep your hair out of your face. Hair straggling around your face just makes you look messy. It is best to choose a hairstyle that pulls back at least half your hair. Jeweled pins are excellent for holding your hair in place and they make excellent style statements.

You really don’t want to wait until the last minute to avoid looking ghoulish. Wedding and work stress can make even the most beautiful woman look a bit pasty. In order to keep your glow, make sure to eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Drinking lots of water will also help keep your skin clear. Allow yourself to get proper rest and you’ll avoid having dark circles and the pasty complexion.
