Avoiding Bridezilla

No matter how easy going you are, it is quite easy to turn into bridezilla on your wedding day. It really doesn’t help when things aren’t going well. Delays and the feeling that your wedding day will be a disaster can make any bride frazzled. Instead of joyful and excited you feel tense and wrung out.
Have to break it to you as early as now: some mishaps may happen on your wedding day. An error or two will happen. You can’t be guaranteed zero hiccups because not all the factors are in your control. You can however find a way to minimize the headaches.
The key to having a smooth and perfect wedding: organization. Bet you were thinking the answer would be to hire a wedding planner. That is helpful, but the first step is to know what you want. Everything rests on your vision, so it is best that you have a very clear picture of what it is.
Once that picture is sharply etched in your mind you can begin thinking about whether to hire a wedding planner or not. There are advantages and disadvantages to having one. Some brides are confident in their abilities to handle everything and would rather save the money a planner and coordinator would cost for their other wedding plans.
Still, here’s the biggest advantage: on your wedding, you can concentrate on only one thing - getting married. Your wedding planner and coordinator will be the ones running around like crazy people making sure that everything you envisioned happens without (or maybe just a tiny) hitch.
Just a few tips you do need to keep in mind:
- * Give yourself sufficient time to shop around. You’ll often be tempted to hire the first wedding supplier who comes close to what you want. It is better to allow yourself a chance to really check out the market. See who can truly help you achieve your dream wedding.
- * Check the fine print! Be very clear on what you are agreeing to. For example, you go to a florist and hire them to provide you with the flowers for your nuptials. They tell you they will provide holders for the blooms. However, nothing was discussed about arranging them at your venue. The agreement may not include any other accessories such as pedestals, posts or other decorative devices to place the flowers attractively around your chosen places. You may suddenly find yourself rushing out at the last minute to rent or buy them yourself.
- * Look for integrated services. It will be a major headache if the venue is clean, and dressed up with all the servers standing by but no food to serve to your guests. It makes sense to look for a place that can cater the food and provide you with the servers. Best of all, if they are also part of the services of your venue, you’ll have less to worry about. This is why many like to choose restaurants or hotels. You’ll only have 1 person to follow up with instead of three or four should there be difficulties.
