White Wedding

There are so many possible themes to use for your wedding. You can go with your favorite colors or just choose a color that is currently in season. Your choice may be dictated by your traditions or perhaps follow the palette of a favorite piece of art. No matter what basis you use to help you decide, somehow you will find one that suits you.
One of our closest friends wanted to have an all white wedding. They felt that single colored theme, specifically white would give an even more dreamlike effect to their already fairy tale like wedding. How to pull it off was the next question.
There was absolutely no problem with the bride’s wedding gown. White after all is the traditional color since queen Victoria made it the trend to follow. The bride just had to pick the gown that suited her vision. As you may have expected, she choose a dress with a fitted tube like top and a full billowing skirt with many layers of petticoats underneath. Her veil was an elbow length piece and made of the finest material. You could see her beautiful and radiant face perfectly.
The bridesmaids too were all dressed in white. Their gowns of course were less elaborate than the brides. They had identical sort of wrap around dresses which were beautifully draped to emphasize their gorgeous figures.
The men of course needed a bit of persuading but they finally ended up in white suits but not the stiff looking tie and tails they dreaded. They really couldn’t get over the white shoes more than any other item they had to wear.
The caterers outdid themselves in coming up with a white menu. As the couple requested, even the food was white (or as near as could be). Crab pastry puffs and cream of mushroom soup started the meal. The buffet held a selection of fish fillet in tartar sauce, white chicken with ginger sauce, slices of crispy, salted pork and steak in white sauce. The couple opted to serve vanilla ice cream and the wedding cake for dessert.
The wedding cake was a beautiful 5 tiered confection. The bride had asked for sugar icing and cascades of candy flowers to decorate the cake. The cake was flavored mocha though and not vanilla since that was the bride’s favorite flavor.
Of course, those were the easy stuff. How to make everything white was the next concern. Step 1: Find a great wedding coordinator who can take care of the details and can help you get your wedding in shape. Step 2: Choose a wedding venue already covered in white naturally like getting married outdoors in a place with lots of snow. Step 3: Find a reception venue that you can swath in white cloths. Thats a lot of cloth but it can be done.
Of course, you will need something to relieve the white on white to give emphasis. In her case, she used crystals. There were beautiful crystal chandeliers in her chosen venue casting rainbows on everyone. The bride also wore diamonds that sparkled as brightly as her smile.
Would you use this theme for your wedding? Maybe, maybe not…but it sure was a beautiful sight to see.
